San Francisco Bay Area (December 2018) – The HR West Conference announced this month that Rachel Shaw will be speaking in March 2019 on the topic of “Mental Health in the Workplace: Solutions to Support a Stressed Out Workforce,” on Monday, Mar. 11, 2019 from 1:30-3:50 p.m. Shaw HRC clients can save $100 using the promo code: PRESENTER19.
Employers are seeing more and more issues with mental illness in the workplace. The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported depression is the leading cause of ill health and disability worldwide. According to an article published in the Journal of American Medical Association, employees with depression reported losing five or more hours of productive work time each week. The study extrapolates this costs American employers an estimated $44 billion a year. In this session, conference attendees will learn to think differently about mental health in the workplace and support an increasingly stressed out workforce. This will include ways to use your employee assistance program (EAP), and how to create a disability interactive process that is both compliant with the law as well as consistent in its application.
Rachel’s session is part of three days (March 11-13, 2019) of professional development, insightful discussions, networking, and practical tools for attendees to take back to their workplaces. Attendees create their own attendee experience with more than 80 concurrent sessions (most for HR recertification credits) to address specific professional and organizational needs.
Rachel Shaw was selected in a highly competitive speaker proposal selection process. As the premiere HR conference on the West Coast, the HR West Conference selection committee received hundreds of speaker proposals for the concurrent session slots and scored them based on the conference’s rigorous criteria.
